Ingredients

500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced

1 cup cornstarch

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon ginger powder

1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional for extra heat)

Vegetable oil (for frying)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup sweet chili sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the beef: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, ginger powder, and chili powder. Ensure the beef is evenly coated, and let it marinate for about 30 minutes.

Coat the beef: Place the cornstarch in a shallow dish. Take each marinated beef slice and coat it thoroughly in the cornstarch, shaking off any excess.

Fry the beef: In a deep skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the beef in batches for about 3-4 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Make the sauce: In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Heat over medium until gently simmering and slightly thickened (around 2-3 minutes).

Add veggies: In the same pan, add the sliced red and green bell peppers, stir-frying them in the remaining sauce for about 2 minutes until they are slightly softened.

Combine: Add the crispy beef to the pan with the sweet chili sauce and bell peppers. Toss gently to ensure the beef is well-coated with the sauce.

Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over steamed rice or with noodles.
