Ingredients

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 cup ricotta cheese

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 slices of thick sourdough bread

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Sea salt, to taste

Instructions

Roast the Strawberries: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, combine the halved strawberries, honey, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil. Toss well. Roast in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the strawberries are soft and caramelized. Remove and let cool slightly.

Whip the Ricotta: In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer or whisk, beat the mixture until it becomes creamy and smooth.

Toast the Bread: While the strawberries are roasting, toast the sourdough bread slices until golden brown and crispy. You can do this in a toaster or on a grill pan.

Assemble the Toast: Spread a generous layer of the whipped ricotta on each slice of toasted sourdough. Top each slice with the roasted strawberries, making sure to spoon some of the delicious syrup over them.

Garnish: Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt, and add fresh basil leaves on top for a delightful touch.

Serve: Enjoy the toasted masterpieces immediately while the toast is still warm, and savor the blend of creamy, sweet, and savory flavors!
