Ingredients

2 lbs chicken wings

1 cup maple syrup

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

1/3 cup soy sauce

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

Fresh apple slices and green onions for garnish

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the sheet. This will help the wings crisp up.

Prepare Chicken Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they are crispy when cooked.

Make Marinade: In a large bowl, combine maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, minced garlic, ground ginger, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well until fully combined.

Marinate Wings: Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them in the marinade until they are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.

Bake Wings: Remove the chicken wings from the marinade and shake off excess liquid. Arrange them in a single layer on the wire rack placed over the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through until they are golden brown and crispy.

Make Sticky Sauce: While the wings are baking, pour the remaining marinade into a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and let it reduce for about 10 minutes. Once it starts to thicken, stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce is sticky and glossy.

Glaze Wings: Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and toss them in the thickened sticky sauce until fully coated.

Serve: Serve the wings hot, garnished with fresh apple slices and chopped green onions for a pop of color and flavor. Enjoy your delicious Sticky Maple Apple Chicken Wings!
